Open Battle Gaming™ Book Schedule

The monolitic book has now been split and resplit. The final layout for the books as they are expected to be published now looks like:

This is a how to play American style battle gaming book. Players are taught the Open Battle Gaming™ System for battle gaming. A system that easily transfers itself to Amtgard, Belegarth, Dagorhir, Darkon, HFS. The book includes safety guidelines, battle scenarios, how to make your own battle game kit, basics on sword work, strategy on the battle field, what to expect, and where to play.

The Battle Game Weapon Guide
Ship Date: May 2010

This book is a comprehensive weapons construction manual. All weapons will conform with the Open Battle Gaming™ Rules for Padded Weapons. It includes detailed information about both retail and commercially available materials, what tools are needed and how to use those tools. It has complete instructions for building: round sword, flat blade sword, hand ax, round mace, flanged mace, stick/staff, pick, war hammer, pole-arm, throwing dagger, throwing ax, sling, javelin, and rock. Shield instructions include solid foam design, plywood backed, and curved. Specialty instructions are included for making foam weapons look like wood, adjusting weight and balance, and making weapon belt clips and hangers.

The Battle Game Archery Guide

Archery provides its own set of problems in battle gaming. This book covers archery use and safety in the Open Battle Gaming™ System. Included is selection of bows and crossbows, how to maintain a bow, safe conduct of archery on the battle field and construction of arrows and a quiver.

The Coaches and Referees Guide to Battle Gaming
Ship Date: Q4, 2010

A comprehensive book about running battle games based on the Open Battle Gaming™. This book includes topics such as scheduling, site selection, site logistics, game selection, game progression, and dealing with problem people. It also looks at the larger items of starting your own club, forming a non-profit, managing your liability, and running leagues and tournaments.
